Good Values - Great Schools

6KOB Values Framework

The Six Kinds of Best Values Framework provides an overview of the main messages of the program and how they link together.

There are four 'key' components to the framework.

  • 1 Key Law
  • 2 Key Mindsets
  • 6 Core Values
  • 80 Key Behaviours

The 6KOB Syllabus puts the framework into a complete learning program.

1 Key Law  - The Law of Attraction

The Law of Attraction says 'Whatever you are thinking and feeling plus your actions is creating your future'

Teachers and parents reinforce this Law by reminding their students/children that their behaviour (actions) is directly corelated to their thoughts and feelings, so it is vital that they keep them positive. The Six Kinds of Best programs helps young people think, feel and act in a positive way.

The Law of attraction is closely related to other sayings like:

  • 'Karma'

  • 'What goes around, comes around'

  • 'You reap what you sow'

  • 'The world is a mirror, smile into it and it will smile back'

Keep your thoughts positive, because your thoughts become your words

Keep your words positive, because your words become your behaviour

Keep your behaviour positive, because your behaviours become your habits

Keep your habits positive, because your habits become your values

Keep your values positive, because your values become your destiny
Mahatma Gandhi

2 Key Mindsets

The Key Mindsets are:

  1. Positive attitude
  2. High expectations

A positive attitude and an optimistic putlook are is paramount for success and happiness. Many talented people not acheived their potential because of a negative attitude. Successful people are optimists. They set their sights high and have high expectations about their ability to acheive goals.

Teachers and parents reinforce the Two Key Mindsets by reminding their students/children that ability is only small part of the equation for success. Attitude is much more important. They can also reinforce them with posters and the Winner Affirmation.

The Two Key Mindsets are related to other sayings like:

  • It's your attitude, not your aptitude that ultimately determines your altitude
  • What you see is who'll you be
  • If it's to be it's up to me
  • If you aim for the stars you'll land somewhere amongst them
  • Winners do what losers don't

6 Key Values

The six key values are of course the Six Kinds of Best - the 'main message' of the program.

  1. Be kind to yourself (respect yourself)
  2. Be kind to others (respect others)
  3. Be kind to the environment (value the environment)
